Marie Simons, parent carer and NICE committee lay member
As a committed mother, Marie has discovered purpose in supporting her neurodivergent children into adulthood. Marie earnestly delved into their world, seeking to understand life through each of their unique lenses. Through advocacy, Marie has worked to educate professionals, urging them to see neurodivergent individuals as multifaceted beings. Marie stresses the significance of recognising their unique strengths and individual needs. Marie has done so and continues to strive to do so through her various personal, voluntary and work roles, including NICE committee lay member. And through such influence, Marie seeks to contribute to a more inclusive society where neurodiversity is warmly embraced, and every person’s qualities and potential are celebrated.
