Chris Sampson, senior principal economist, Office of Health Economics
Chris Sampson is a senior principal economist at the Office of Health Economics, where he is the research theme lead for value, affordability, and decision making. Chris is an expert in economic evaluation, with a particular interest in mental health and digital therapeutics. His research and writing spans a broad range of topics in health policy and economics, including cost-effectiveness thresholds, transparency in decision modelling, and the use of EQ-5D value sets.
Chris is a member of the EuroQol Group and leads on the development of several ‘bolt-on’ items for the EQ-5D. He is currently the lead convener for the International Health Economics Association’s Mental Health Economics Special Interest Group and is also the founder of The Academic Health Economists’ Blog.
