Dr Louise Edwards joined NICE as the programme director for the uptake and adoption of NICE guidance in July 2024. Before that, Louise had spent nearly 20 years as a director in NHS commissioning and provider organisations.

Combining strategy roles with delivery of large-scale change, Louise has been involved in some of the defining moments in commissioning in the NHS, as a regional lead for world class commissioning in primary care trusts, and in the national team in NHSE that initiated and authorised clinical commissioning groups.
