Jeanette Kusel, programme director – methods, research and health economics, NICE
Jeanette is responsible for the science policy and research and the methods economics team at NICE. These teams drive and coordinate NICE-wide methods development, research activities and health economic analysis. Jeanette was director for NICE Advice for 6 years previous to this, where she was responsible for the stewardship and growth of the NICE Advice (formerly NICE Scientific Advice) programme, which covers early support for life science companies and the NICE International offer. She chaired many of the national and parallel scientific advice meetings for medical device and pharmaceutical product developers and worked closely with regulatory and NHS colleagues on partnership projects.
Jeanette joined NICE in 2018 and has held roles such as co-deputy director for the Centre for Health Technology Evaluation and acting MedTech director. Previously Jeanette held the positions of head of health technology assessment (HTA) and health economics and scientific director at a consultancy within the life science sector. Jeanette studied undergraduate natural sciences at the University of Cambridge and postgraduate health economics at the University of York.
